We have been weeding out old crops, discarding the old cabbages and making space for the new seedlings to come in the Spring. We have been sowing seeds and tidying the greenhouse – even on the frosty days nothing stops us! We keep ourselves warm by cooking on the outdoor fire overlooking the garden. Over the past few weeks we have made a root vegetable curry and pumpkin stew with mashed celeriac. This week we are planning to make a meal with local and home-grown veggies and pasta ordered from the Real Economy Co-op.
Three volunteers have committed their time to come and help and we have had three agencies make referrals over the past month. We are growing, as well as the veggies – but there are still places available for those that could benefit from the project. Let us know if you are a referral agency that works with an individual who would like to be part of our community and is in need to access to fresh, local produce.
