2016 Weekend Word Days Announced!

martinHello Sims Hillians,

Have you been wanting to get your fingers in the earth? To get more involved in the SHSH coop? Or just fancy some fresh air in this fresh new year? Get the new MONTHLY Sims Hill Volunteer Days in your diary.

SPRING 2016 VOLUNTEER DAYS

Sunday 21st Feb
Sunday 20th March
Sunday 17th April
Sunday 15th May

*No experience necessary
*Get involved in how your dinner grows
*All welcome

10.30am-4pm
Sunday 2oth March will be on our space at the FEED BRISTOL site
. For directions scroll down on http://www.avonwildlifetrust.org.uk/feedbristol

What we’ll do:
Maybe some weeding, maybe some sowing, a bit of hoeing or planting… Exact tasks will be decided by the weather, plants + Martin the grower. Whatever we do it will definitely be an enormous help to Sims Hill – many hands make light work, even just for one Sunday. We’ll provide all the tools and explanations, but we need your willing hands and smiles.

What to bring:
Warm clothes
Boots/wellies/shoes for fields
Waterproofs (v important, but don’t forget we also have polytunnels+a greenhouse, we won’t make you suffer)
Something to share for lunch (we’ll provide snacks and hot drinks)
You are welcome to bring children/friends, but please make sure that they will be warm enough + happy to work with us.

What to do now:
If you want to come along on Sunday 21st Feb (or generally share enthusiasm or skills), please rsvp to corra.boushel@hotmail.co.uk so we know how big a teapot to bring.

We’ll send out a reminder nearer the time, but we wanted to start the New Year with a heads up and a plan. Hope to see you at some point in 2016.

All the best
Corra, Martin and the salad leaves
